The short version
Thirty-second read- The mandate
- Across personal and client work, concepts kept arriving that could not be photographed in one frame: things that do not exist, do not fit in a studio, or would cost more to stage than the whole project budget.
- The insight
- Merged disparate photographic elements in Photoshop to build narrative-driven composites with consistent lighting, perspective, and shadow depth
- My role + craft
- Photography, Photoshop, Compositing · for Selected personal & client work · Various. Concept, direction and hands-on execution.
- The result
- A body of composite imagery proving concepts can be fully realized in-house, with no external retouching spend
01Brief
Across personal and client work, concepts kept arriving that could not be photographed in one frame: things that do not exist, do not fit in a studio, or would cost more to stage than the whole project budget. The usual answer is to hire an external retouching house, which adds cost, adds rounds and puts the idea in someone else's hands. This body of work is the alternative, built so concept, photography and compositing all stay with the same person.
02Approach
- 01Merged disparate photographic elements in Photoshop to build narrative-driven composites with consistent lighting, perspective, and shadow depth
- 02Retained raw photographic textures and organic details to keep the final imagery grounded in realism rather than digital simulation
- 03Translated abstract client concepts into concrete visual metaphors, executing both the initial studio photography and the final digital assembly
- 04Structured high-resolution, multi-layered source files to ensure visual clarity across both web platforms and large-format print runs
03Outcomes
- A body of composite imagery proving concepts can be fully realized in-house, with no external retouching spend
- Campaign assets that communicate an idea instantly, reducing the explanatory copy around them
- Faster creative cycles, because concept, shoot and composite all sit with one person
