Streetohome Chosen Family Pods
“Reframed the conversation on homelessness — from surface-level symptoms to root-cause understanding — through a communication system built for clarity, dignity and long-term engagement.”
Streetohome is a Vancouver foundation working on homelessness, a file where public conversation collapses a systemic problem into one visible symptom: no housing. Housing is the result, not the root. Funders, government and the public each need a different level of detail, and most messaging either oversimplifies or makes the problem sound unsolvable, which stalls donations and policy support alike. The work had to reframe root causes while holding the dignity of the people involved.
- 01Built a narrative framework that shifts perception from symptoms to root causes
- 02Designed print and digital collateral for clarity and accessibility
- 03Developed messaging that humanizes without exploiting and educates without overwhelming
- 04Directed visual and communication strategy across every campaign touchpoint
- Shifted the conversation from symptom-based thinking to root-cause understanding across funder, government and public audiences
- A communications system that holds up in a fundraising ask, a policy briefing and a public post without changing its facts
- Stronger emotional connection while protecting the dignity of people living through homelessness
- Clearer pathways for long-term community engagement rather than one-off sympathy
